As they have been doing for twelve years, Europsy Rehabilitation has organised its 11the Europsy Rehabilitation Festival, where all European citizens could share their psychosocial rehab experiences in a series of technical and professional meetings, as well as very popular games and celebrations including arts, culture and sport workshops.
In 2009, the Huis voor de Zorg together with Euregional mental health care partners, the National Programme Lokale Versterking, the council of Valkenburg and EURO-PSY Rehabilitation organised the yearly festival of Europsy.
The 2009 festival was linked to the theme of:
User exchange across borders
Social inclusion by reducing social drop outs
The festival was dedicated to people with mental health difficulties, their relatives, professionals who work in the field and those who show an interest. The theme not only relates to exchange across geographical borders but also refers to exchange across cultural borders between users, relatives, professionals and society. Knowledge, experiences and best practices took the lead in the festival program and investments are made in creating a strong European network of users, relatives and professionals.
The festival home base was the city of Valkenburg in the Netherlands. However, the activities took place within the Euregion of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. This Euregional character of the festival provided the unique opportunity to visit all the good practices, nice touristic spots and culture off all the Euregional organizations that participate.
So Europsy 2009 offered the opportunity to combine a nice active holiday in a
natural and touristic environment with the ability to meet new people across Europe and to exchange, learn and enjoy.
